Courtyard

The Courtyard is Northcrest Manor's main outdoor area, showing the massive building in its entirety. This area is where Garrett and Erin first infiltrate the mansion during the game's prologue. A year later, Garrett passes through this area during the events of A Man Apart.

Wide and open, the courtyard features two side areas in addition to the central garden, which features a large fountain beneath the mansion's terrace. This balcony contains the manor's front entrance, along with an enormous statue of the Baron himself. During the prologue, the stairs leading up to this terrace are heavily guarded, forcing Garrett and Erin to take a roundabout route through the nearby Fountain Court area.

During Chapter 6, the entrance to the Fountain Court is barricaded against the Graven, so Garrett must instead make his approach by climbing up to the courtyard's central terrace. The player may do this by entering the pump room behind the fountain and turning the valve to shut off the water, ensuring a silent ascent.

From there, the player may continue along the mansion's left side, eventually choosing to either drop down a set of stairs to enter via the Cellar, or shoot down a hanging crate with a Blunt Arrow, and use a Rope Arrow to scale the building's side to reach the Attic.
