Erin's Mill

Erin's Mill (Carlysle's Mill) is an abandoned Mill located in South Quarter/Riverside near Eel's End and serves as Erin's personal hideout.

Background[]

Carlyse's Mill was originally constructed at an unknown date and was the last holding owned by the Carlysle family.[1]

At some point, presumably around NRy830, the mill was discovered by a young orphan named Erin. After fleeing the House of Blossoms. Erin moved into the abandoned mill, where she learned how to operate and maintain the building's mechanisms. In addition, she planted several hidden traps inside the mill to keep out unwanted visitors.

Events of Thief[]

Garrett visits the mill after the explosion at Northcrest Manor. Stopping by before his mission at the House of Blossoms, the thief recalls Erin's fondness for traps, and steps lightly as he navigates the maze-like mill, either using the Wirecutter to disable the traps, or bypassing them completely.

Trivia []

  • Similar to the Stonemarket Clock Tower, the Mill features large gears and mechanisms inside.
  • During the initial Primal sequence upon dropping into Erin's room, Erin mentions that "the key to the truth" was something she had stolen from her old life. This suggests that Erin stole the Keeper Medallion from the House of Blossoms during her time as a Petal, as the brothel is situated atop the ruins of the Keeper Compound.
  • Inside Erin's room, several paintings, drawings and paint pallets can be found, indicating that Erin is artistic.
    • The fact that many of the sketches are specifically of Garrett suggests that Erin may even have had romantic feelings for her mentor.
    • This is further suggested by the game's second Primal sequence in the Keep, during which Erin asks, "Is that why you let me go? Because I was the only family you had?"[2]
