The family heirloom of House Northcrest, this item is a collectible piece of unique loot available in Thief. It can be found during the mission "A Man Apart".
To obtain the heart, the player must first flip the hidden switches on the lion engraving found on the Second Floor of Northcrest Manor. This will allow access to the Old Family Chapel, where the heart is kept. The player must rotate the dials on either side of the altar so that they display the (red) coat of arms of House Northcrest. Due to one side having had the symbols scratched off, the player must peer through the hole in the altar to view the actual mechanism to rotate.
